Employment services

We are keen to help our clients use legislation to foster good working relationships and better business. However, we also recognise there are times when relationships can take a turn for the worse and we are experienced in dealing with disputes for a wide range of businesses. It may be that a client is too close to any disciplinary or grievance procedures to do proper process. As well as being time-consuming, issues such as disputes with other shareholders can be emotionally draining. Our knowledgeable, external view will make resolution more clear-cut and take the strain off the business.

We aim to resolve disputes and work proportionately in the best interest of the business as a whole. Sometimes this will involve drafting Settlement Agreements previously referred to as Compromise Agreements and advising on the settlement process both as a preventative approach to avoiding disputes and after disputes have arisen.

We have experience in advising on a wide variety of claims including, unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal and discrimination.

Non-contentious work (any area that doesn’t involve legislation) including the provision of employment contracts individual policies or handbooks. We can also make sure companies comply with employment legislation.

We work with Human Resources consultants where appropriate to ensure that all our clients receive the right level of service and intervention from skilled specialists where legal involvement is inappropriate.

At all times we work with employers in the context of their business recognising the commercial realities that disputes can have upon a business.

For individuals

We represent employees in advising over concerns arising out of their employment.  This includes raising grievances with employers and advising during disciplinary procedures, bringing claims in the Employment Tribunal and advising on settlement including Settlement Agreements.
